For tickets issued 21 July 2008 or later, the maximum weight of Economy Class check-in baggage on flights to or from or via North America is revised to 23kg per item. Bags weighing over 23kg and up to 32kg will be charged USD25 or the equivalent per item. The two-piece limit, maximum dimensions per bag and excess baggage charge for weight exceeding 32kg remain unchanged.

Gold and Diamond members of The Marco Polo Club travelling between Hong Kong and North America are entitled to one extra piece of check-in baggage on top of the regular allowance, with the same conditions above.

These changes apply to all flights operated by Cathay Pacific or Cathay Pacific/Dragonair connections.
