1. How do I redeem a flight award using my Asia Miles?

For Cathay Pacific and Dragonair, you can select and redeem flight awards online at www.cathaypacific.com or www.dragonair.com by logging on with your membership number/username and PIN. If you wish to redeem flight awards with other airline partners, you can complete an Airline Award Request Form and submit it online.

2. Can I book a flight with a date beyond my Asia Miles expiry date?

Flight awards are valid for one year from the date of issue unless otherwise stated, but the tickets must be issued before the mileage expires. You can book on any dates within the ticket validity, subject to award seat availability.

3. Can I issue an open-dated award ticket?

Open-dated award tickets are not permitted. Tickets for award travel will only be issued after a confirmed reservation has been made.

4. Can I change my travel itinerary after my award has been issued?

Yes, flight awards can be reissued to another routing if completely unused, subject to the change having the same expiry date as the original ticket and being with the same airline. A service fee of USD100 or 10,000 Asia Miles applies for reissuance of flight award tickets or upgrades.

5. Can I change my dates of travel after my flight award has been issued? If so, how?

Yes, you can change your travel dates for a fee of USD25 or 1,000 mileage credits, subject to award seat availability. Please contact us prior to your original departure date. You can send us your request by phone, email, fax or via the online feedback form.

6. What charges are included in an award booking? Why do I need to provide a credit card number if I am redeeming Asia Miles for flight awards? If I don't have a credit card in my name, how do I pay the additional fees?

You are required to pay for the applicable departure taxes, other airport or government handling fees, fuel surcharges, security and insurance charges and any other fees charged by any authorised entity. We will deduct these charges from your credit card when we issue your award ticket. Please enquire about the amount at the time of reservation. If you don’t have your own credit card, we accept third party credit cards where necessary.

7. How many days in advance should I redeem a flight award?

You can redeem flight awards online for Cathay Pacific or Dragonair at www.cathaypacific.com or www.dragonair.com up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure time. When redeeming flight awards on other airline partners, you can complete an Airline Award Request Form and submit it online. 8. What is the difference between the Asia Miles Awards and oneworld Multi-Carrier Awards?

Asia Miles Awards are valid for travel on either one or two Asia Miles airline partners (where Cathay Pacific is included). The oneworld Multi-Carrier Award is applicable to travel on two or more oneworld alliance airlines (where Cathay Pacific is not included), or three or more oneworld airlines where Cathay Pacific is included. 9. What happens if award seats are not available?

Most airline partners do not allow wait listing, so you will need to make alternative travel plans in the event that we are unable to grant your award request. If redeeming an award on Cathay Pacific or Dragonair, you can click here to redeem flight awards online by using our Online Booking Service and to check for flight availability. You can also request to be placed on a waitlist for Cathay Pacific or Dragonair flights.

10. Are there any blackout dates for flight awards?

Blackout dates do not apply when flying Cathay Pacific or Dragonair, but award seats are assigned on a "first-come, first-served" basis. You can click here to check for flight availability online. For certain airline partners, blackout dates apply, so please check this at the time of reservation.

11. Can I book a flight award through Asia Miles if I have accrued mileage from an Asia Miles airline partner’s Frequent Flyer programme?

No, you cannot book a flight award with us using the mileage from another Frequent Flyer programme. Although Cathay Pacific and Dragonair are partners with other airlines in the Asia Miles programme, our frequent flyer programmes remain separate. 13. Where can I get my award tickets? Do I collect the tickets from your office?

Electronic tickets are available on most routings, and are usually sent to you by email. For routings where paper tickets are necessary, we will collect your address information at the time of reservation and send the paper tickets to you by courier.

15. Can I reserve or assign a seat for my confirmed flight(s)?

If you are travelling on Cathay Pacific or Dragonair, you can select your seat up to 48 hours prior to the flight scheduled departure time through our online check-in facility, which is available for most Cathay Pacific and Dragonair routes. Please click here

17. How long is my ticket valid for? Can I extend its validity?

Flight awards are valid for one year from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Only the validity of Cathay Pacific or Dragonair flight awards and Upgrade Awards can be extended for a maximum of 30 days from the original ticket expiry date for a service fee of USD50 or 5,000 Asia Miles. The validity of other partner awards cannot be extended.

18. Can I skip my next flight and carry on with the rest of my journey?

No. One of the principal rules pertaining to air tickets is that they have to be used according to the sequence as issued, which would be coupon after coupon, and so forth. Should a ticket not be used in sequence, all of the flight coupons following the used coupon will be forfeited and will not be valid for further use.

No, this is not necessary if the passengers are travelling together on the same itinerary in the same cabin class.

22. How do I know if my Asia Miles reservation has been completed and that I have redeemed a ticket?

If you have redeemed an award online, you will receive an email confirmation after your redemption is successfully completed. If you have made a reservation by calling us or by submitting an Airline Award Request Form, your award ticket will be issued automatically by the ticketing deadline if all the flight sectors are confirmed and all the required information is provided; otherwise, the booking will be cancelled. You can contact us to check on the status of your booking at any time prior to the ticketing deadline.

24. How do I redeem an upgrade if travelling with my infant who is not occupying a seat?

You can make an Upgrade Award reservation for your infant by contacting us. Upgrade Awards are subject to availability at the time of award reservation. If the requested flights are confirmed, you will be required to provide us with details of your purchased ticket for verification and award issuance. You will also be required to purchase an infant fare ticket for your child in your upgraded class of travel.

25. How do I redeem an Upgrade Award for my infant who is occupying a seat?

You can make an Upgrade Award reservation for your infant by contacting us. . Upgrade Awards are subject to availability at the time of award reservation. If the requested flights are confirmed, you will be required to provide us details of your infant's child fare ticket for verification and award ticket issuance.

26. Can I book my child’s award ticket online if he/she is travelling alone?

You will need to contact us to make an award reservation for a child. The amount of Asia Miles required for a child occupying a seat is the same as for an adult. For passengers travelling alone who are under the age of 12 years, an Unaccompanied Minor (UM) Service will be required and a service fee applies. Please note that some of our airline partners do not accept minors travelling alone.

27. Can I book award travel for my infant online?

Whether or not your infant will occupy a seat, you will need to contact us to make his/her award reservation. The amount of Asia Miles required for an infant passenger occupying a seat is the same as for an adult.
