With Asia Miles you can redeem non-flight related awards, so you don't have to be travelling to redeem awards. Check out a wide range of awards in the "Redeem awards" section. Alternatively, you can also renew your miles (with service fee applies) from the old time-based system. Upon renewal, the Miles will fall into the new activity-based system.
However, please note that Miles renewal is not applicable for the new activity-based system. Under the new expiry rule that went into effective on 1 January 2020, you will be able to keep your Asia Miles account active so long as you earn or use your Miles once every 18 months. You can register your first five nominees with no fee applied. Thereafter, you can change up to three nominees per membership year with a service fee (online form USD50, other channels USD75). This applies to replacing each existing nominee or registering each new nominee to replace a previously deleted nominee. You may also update a nominee's membership number or title, or delete an existing nominee anytime for free.

It's easy to earn Asia Miles. Just quote your Asia Miles membership number when making your booking and when you check in at the airport. You can check whether your flights and fare classes are eligible in the "Airline partners" section by selecting the airlines you have traveled with.

Miles credited are based on the fare class booked and shown on the air ticket. Not all fare classes are eligible for Asia Miles. For details refer to the "What you can earn" section under each individual airline partner page. The fare class is normally indicated under the Itinerary section of your flight ticket receipt.
Asia Miles are awarded based on the “great-circle distance” in miles between the origin and destination airports. For connecting or through flights that require a change in flight number, the sum of the “great-circle distance” for each segment will form the basis of the amount of Asia Miles credited.
Airline Miles may not have been credited to your account if you didn't provide your Asia Miles membership number during booking and check-in. To make a claim for these missing miles, log in to your account, go to "Manage your Miles", click "Claim missing Miles", and select "Claim airline Miles". Follow the instructions to complete the process. Just make sure you do so after 7 days, but within 6 months of the travel date. If your claim is successful, the Miles you should have earned will be credited into your account within 6 to 8 weeks. Please note that new members can only claim missing Miles for flights taken within 30 days prior to their enrolment date.
This can be caused by different reasons, such as a name mismatch, a membership number mismatch, ineligible fare class and other similar issues. It is also possible that your flight was ineligible for earning Asia Miles – please refer to the "Airline partners" section to check eligibility. To avoid missing out on Asia Miles due to name mismatches, please make sure that the name on your passport, ticket and membership profile all match each other exactly.

No, miles or points can only be awarded to one frequent flyer or travel reward programme at a time. Therefore, you will need to quote your preferred programme's membership number when you make your reservations and present the same membership card at check-in, in order for eligible flights to be credited to your account.
A codeshare flight is a flight marketed by one airline and operated by another airline. That flight generally carries flight numbers from both airlines. Certain codeshare flights are ineligible for the accrual of Asia Miles. Please check with the relevant airline reservation office to confirm the eligibility status.
It's possible that the web browser you used at the time of your purchase had cookies disabled. Cookies allow us to track your purchase and without them there's no way for the system to allocate Asia Miles to your account. Your purchase will be processed as follows: within 5 days of purchase, the sale transaction will be acknowledged when you receive a purchase status email from Asia Miles iShop support. The lead-time for the approval of purchase transactions typically takes 120 days, but may take longer depending on the individual merchant. If the transaction is approved by the merchant, Asia Miles will normally be credited to a member's account within 30 days.
Once we receive your missing miles request, your claim will be verified within five working days. You can check your "iShop transaction history" to check the status of your claim.
For untracked purchases: If the claim is valid, we will track the sales again and resend a purchase acknowledgement email to you. There are many different ways to earn Asia Miles with our non-airline partners. Please refer to "Ways to earn" under "Earn miles" to learn more about earning miles with individual partners. Dine at our Partner Restaurants and present your membership QR code in the Asia Miles App or physical membership card when you pay the bill to earn Miles. If the payment is made by charge / credit card, the name on the payment card should match the name on the membership card. Partner restaurants outside Hong Kong and Taiwan will also provide an Asia Miles dining receipt (or electronically printed restaurant receipt with pre-printed membership number and member name).

Sorry, open-dated award tickets are not permissable. You can only redeem tickets for award travel with a confirmed reservation.
Unfortunately not. One of the principal rules pertaining to flight tickets is that they have to be used according to the sequence they were issued (meaning coupon after coupon). Should a ticket not be used in sequence, all flight coupons following the original used coupon will be forfeited and become invalid for further use.

You can check the status of bookings for your Cathay Pacific flights at any time. Just visit www.cathaypacific.com, log in with your Asia Miles account, and click “Manage booking”. After that, you can select your booking to review the latest status.
Once your flight has been confirmed, you will receive an email from Cathay Pacific notifying you that you have successfully redeemed your ticket. You can then have your award ticket issued by clicking the "Manage this booking" button and selecting "Issue award ticket" from Cathay Pacific's website.

Children travelling alone must meet the minimum age requirement in order to enjoy the redemption. The minimum age required for a hotel and experience award is 18. The minimum age required for renting a car alone is 25. A national driving licence and International Driving Permit (if applicable) are also required.

Members can now redeem HK Express flights with Asia Miles directly on HK Express website. After choosing your flight and extras, simply select ‘Redeem with Miles’ on the payment page.

You can redeem the flight ticket for anyone in your Asia Miles redemption group other than yourself. On HK Express website, you can add the passengers under ‘guest details’ and verify your Asia Miles account on the payment page to make a redemption. Please note that the passenger name must match the member name in the respective Asia Miles account.
Infant (below 2 years old) or children (2-11 years old) can be added as passengers for your flight booking on HK Express website and redeemed using Asia Miles. For infant seating arrangements, please contact HK Express hotline to confirm the booking and visit hkexpress.com/en-hk/plan/our-fares/fare-rules/ for more details.
After selecting your flight on HK Express website, you can add extras including seat options, food and drinks, baggage and U-First during your booking and redeem the total fare with Asia Miles. Yes. After choosing your flight and extras, select ‘Redeem with Miles’ on the payment page, verify Asia Miles account, and select the number of Miles you wish to redeem. The remaining cash amount will be displayed, which can be settled with your credit card.
Tax and surcharge can be only settled using your credit card.
The redemption ticket follows the fare conditions of HK Express. The flight can be rebooked 48 hours prior to flight departure with applicable charges. Refund applies to U-Biz fare class (90% of the booking amount exclusive of taxes and fees). Please contact HK Express Guest Relations for related arrangements.
Currently we only offer redemption of HK Express flight tickets using Asia Miles. However, you can use your Asia Miles co-branded credit card to earn Miles from HK Express flight booking and everyday spending.

The change is from a time-based system to an activity-based system. From 1 January 2020 (HKT), you can keep your Asia Miles active so long as you earn or redeem Miles at least once every 18 months*. (Remarks: *For all new Miles earned from 1 January 2020, the Miles expiry date is automatically extended by 18 months from your last Miles crediting or debiting date. All Miles credited on or before 31 December 2019 will continue to follow the former Miles expiry arrangement.)
That means your newly earned Miles will no longer expire three years after being credited to your account.
Under the new activity-based system, the Miles expiry date is automatically extended by 18 months from your last crediting or debiting date, but not the activity or transaction date.
Asia Miles that are earned on or before 31 December 2019 have fallen under the time-based system and they are valid for three years from the month the Miles are credited.

Activity or transaction date is the date when you conduct the activity or transaction, such as any spending you do with your credit card or when you redeem Miles for a Lifestyle Award.
Crediting or debiting date is the date when Miles are added into or deducted from your account. Hence, the two dates (activity date vs crediting date) could be different.
The change is only on the Miles expiry rule.
Earning and redemption mechanisms remain unchanged.
Flight Awards availability will not be affected.
How to keep an account active
You can keep your Miles active by earning or redeeming them at least once every 18 months*. We encourage you to make any transaction through earning or redeeming at your earliest convenience in order to reactivate your account. If not, your Miles will be expired.
Miles renewal is still applicable after 1 January 2020. You can renew all Miles (with service fee applies) from the time-based system. Upon renewal, the Miles will fall into the new activity-based system.
However, please note that Miles renewal is not applicable for the new activity-based system.
Miles calculation and mechanism
All Miles credited on or before 31 December 2019 will fall into the time-based system.
Miles earned on or after 1 January 2020 will fall into the new activity-based system.
Miles under the time-based system and new activity-based system will be clearly shown in your Asia Miles account and your monthly statement.
Miles cannot be reallocated from the time-based system to the activity-based system nor the other way around.
We hope to enhance members’ experience while minimising any disruption brought by the new arrangement and there will be a transitional arrangement.
There are two ways to keep track of your Miles expiry status.
One is via the monthly statement which is sent to your registered email every month.
Another way to keep track is to log into your account via asiamiles.com or Asia Miles’ mobile app.
Once you log into your account, you’ll find the Miles placed under two systems – the time-based system and the new activity-based system.
For Miles under the time-based system, an expiration date will be shown so you can keep track of the Miles’ due date.
For Miles placed under the new activity-based system, you will only find the last Miles crediting or debiting date. You can keep track of the expiration date of the Miles in the activity-based system by adding 18 months to the last crediting or debiting date.
From 1 January 2020 onwards, Miles will be deducted on a first-in-first-out basis. In other words, Miles in the time-based system will be used up first.
When all Miles in the time-based system are used up, the Miles in the new activity-based system will be deducted.
It depends on the Miles balance in the time-based system.
The Miles in the new activity-based system will only be deducted when all Miles in the former time-based system are used up.
Refunded Miles will be credited to where they are redeemed from.
