Dining

  1. To earn Asia Miles on dining transactions, at the time of payment, Members are required to present:
    a) the Cathay app for payment when using the Miles Plus Cash payment option; or
    b) their membership card or QR code generated by the OpenRice app (when Asia Miles account is registered under the OpenRice account)
  2. If a temporary Asia Miles membership card is presented, the Member is required to provide identification displaying the same name as the one submitted on the Asia Miles enrolment form.
  3. If payment is made by charge/credit card, the name provided by the Member should match the name on the charge/credit card.
  4. Members must dine and pay at the location designated by the dining partner in order to earn Mileage Credits. Members staying at hotels and dining at a dining partner at that hotel must settle payment separately at the dining partner in order to earn Mileage Credits.
  5. Members are responsible for checking the details of their Asia Miles dining receipt or electronically printed restaurant receipt for accuracy before leaving the dining partner and to retain the original customer copy. For those who choose to earn Mileage Credits through the Cathay app or the OpenRice app, it is the Member’s responsibility to check the details in the confirmation email for accuracy. AML and CPA are not liable for Mileage Credits claims in the event of loss of the original Asia Miles dining receipt, electronically printed restaurant receipt, or confirmation email, and/or non-presentation of Membership Card at the time of payment.
  6. Unless otherwise specified, Mileage Credits will be earned on total food and beverage spending, including service charges and taxes where applicable. Tips are excluded in all markets. Please refer to dining.asiamiles.com for details.
  7. Spending criteria or earning proposition varies depending on the market and dining partners. Please refer to dining.asiamiles.com for details.

  8. Only one Asia Miles dining receipt or electronically printed restaurant receipt with pre-printed membership number and Member name will be issued per restaurant bill or dining transaction. Those who choose to earn Mileage Credits through the Cathay app or the OpenRice app will only receive one confirmation email at time of submission.
  9. Members must purchase food and/or beverages in order to qualify. Breakfast / Brunch / Lunch / Tea / Dinner / Buffet / Drinks
     menus are acceptable, unless otherwise specified.
  10. Mileage Credits might not be earned in conjunction with other dining partner-related promotions or discounts. Members are advised to check with the dining partner(s) concerned prior to dining.
  11. Dining partners may apply additional terms and conditions with regard to the availability of and eligibility for Mileage Credits.
  12. Mileage Credits will be credited to the Member’s account 6–8 weeks after each eligible dining transaction. Those who choose to earn Mileage Credits through the Cathay app or the OpenRice app will be credited within seven (7) working days.
  13. If Members are unable to earn Mileage Credits through the OpenRice app due to any of the following reasons, dining partner shall provide other forms of mileage crediting method including but not limited to Asia Miles dining receipts,
    a) System suspension which has been announced by Asia Miles in advance;
    b) Failure in system operations due to a breakdown; or
    c) Scan Device unavailable or breakdown
  14. To claim missing Mileage Credits, Members must complete the online Missing Mileage Credits Request Form, together with the original Asia Miles dining receipt, original electronically printed restaurant receipt with pre-printed membership number and Member name, and /or confirmation email. Only legible original or electronic copies will be processed. Missing Mileage Credits requests must be made within 6 months of the dining transaction date.
  15. The QR code generated by the OpenRice app is available for Members to earn Mileage Credits through eligible dining partners in Hong Kong only.
  16. Members need to connect their Asia Miles account with OpenRice account in order to:
    a) make table booking reservations on the Cathay app and fulfill booking to earn the designated Mileage Credits; and/or
    b) use the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app.
  17. By connecting your Asia Miles account with your OpenRice account on the Cathay app, Members shall acknowledge that their personal data is collected voluntarily and under consent to be stored, transferred and used by AML, CPA and OpenRice Limited.
  18. By accessing or using OpenRice Table Booking Service and/or the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app, Members shall acknowledge and agree to OpenRice’s Terms and Conditions of Service, Terms and Conditions of Table Booking for General Users, and Personal Data (Privacy) Policy Statement.

Dining - Miles Plus Cash (For Hong Kong only)

  1. The Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app is only available to Members dining with our dining partners in Hong Kong, or for takeaways or deliveries where payment is made at the dining partner's designated location in Hong Kong.
  2. To use the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app, Members must connect their Asia Miles account with their OpenRice account on the Cathay app and link either their Mastercard or Visa credit card to the Cathay app.
  3. All payments must be made in Hong Kong dollars (HKD).
  4. By using the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app, Members may choose to pay the dining partner using Mileage Credits and/or cash, whereby the cash portion is paid using the Mastercard or Visa credit card that is linked to the Cathay app.
  5. From now until 31 December 2021, first 50,000 members will receive 200 miles Mileage Credits as the a welcome bonus upon the the Member’s first successful payment using Miles Plus Cash at one of our Partner Restaurantsdining partners in Hong Kong. The Welcome bonus Mileage Credits will be credited to the relevant Asia Miles account 4 to 6 weeks after the completion of the first eligible dining transaction.
  6. All Mileage Credits must be in the Member’s account at the time of payment, and the pooling of Mileage Credits from a number of different Member’s accounts is not permitted.
  7. Members may earn Mileage Credits on the cash portion pursuant to clause 5 of the Dining section above and the Mileage Credits will be credited to the Member’s account which is linked to the Cathay app that is used for payment.
  8. All payments using the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app will be collected by OpenRice Limited and the merchant on your statement will be indicated as “OpenRice Limited”.
  9. If the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay App is not available for any reason, dining partner shall provide other forms of Mileage Crediting, however, redemption of Mileage Credits will not be available.
  10. All money paid by Members using the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  11. The redemption rate for Mileage Credits is 1,500 Mileage Credits = HKD50, with a minimum spend of HKD50 for each dining transaction.
  12. Marco Polo Club Silver Members and above or cardholders of the Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard® can enjoy a 10% discount on all dining redemptions when using the Miles Plus Cash payment function on the Cathay app. This offer is not cumulative and cannot be used together in one transaction. This offer is also not available for dining redemptions on lifestyle.asiamiles.com. For Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard cardholders, all clauses under the section “Dining Privileges (applicable to Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard Credit Cardholders)” shall also apply to this offer.

 

Banquets

  1. Members must hold a banquet at the location designated by the banquets partner in order to earn Mileage Credits. Members staying at hotels and holding banquets at that hotel must settle payment separately in order to earn Mileage Credits.
  2. It is the Member's responsibility to check the details of their receipt issued by the banquets partner for accuracy and to retain the original customer copy before leaving the banquets partner. AML and CPA are not liable for Mileage Credits claim in the event of loss of the original receipt issued by the banquets partner and/or non-presentation of membership card at the time of payment.
  3. Mileage Credits will be earned on total food and beverage spending when holding a banquet including service charges and taxes, where applicable. Tips are excluded in all markets. Please refer to dining.asiamiles.com for details.
  4. Spending criteria or earning proposition varies depending on the market and banquets partners. Please refer to dining.asiamiles.com for details.
  5. Mileage Credits cannot be earned in conjunction with other banquets partner–related promotions or discounts. Members are advised to check with individual banquets partner prior to booking.
  6. Banquets partners may apply additional terms and conditions with regard to the availability and eligibility of earning Mileage Credits.
